The 98-member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world, have decided to honor the FRIGATE chair family with the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021. The competition was intense: almost 10,000 entries were submitted from 52 countries in hopes of receiving the seal of quality.

The ambassador of creative furniture design
In the spring of 2019, the Hungarian embassy in the capital of Algeria approached the Product Design Department of the Moholy-Nagy University of Arts with a special project. The ambassador’s residence needed an ambitious furniture ensemble, which, in addition to serving a list of user requirements, would provide also an occasion for university students to develop their skills. The project was announced in the frame of an open call launched in the fall of 2019, followed by a seminar during which students worked independently on their ideas. As a result of several years of successful cooperation with the university, Plydesign Ltd. has become the implementing partner of the project, accompanying the students on a path full of professional challenges.

Design Management Award 2020 - from a two-man Hungarian startup to an internationally prosperous conscious design team
The young furniture brand Plydesign has reached another milestone – the design brand was honoured to receive the Design Management Award on October 1, 2020. The award ceremony is traditionally the opening event of the Design Week Budapest event series, in the framework of which the winners of the two most prestigious awards in Hungary (Hungarian Design Award, Design Management Award) are greeted. It is a unique achievement that Plydesign has received these two professional recognitions for two consecutive years (HDA in 2019 and DMA in 2020).
